WHO WERE LIBERO AND ZORA POLOJAZ?<\/h3>

Libero and Zora Polojaz were born under the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the interior of Istria with a predominantly Croatian population. After their marriage, they lived for several years in Postojna (Slovenia) where they established a thriving business. In this border region, they were able to appreciate Slovenian culture and society. In addition, they also grew familiar with Italy, in its positive aspects \u2013 of culture, creativity and entrepreneurship \u2013 and its many negative aspects. In the two decades of Fascism, they in fact also experienced prison, just because they were tied to their origins and refracted to submit to the prevailing and destructive nationalism. <\/span><\/p>

In spite of everything, they never let themselves be overwhelmed by these negative experiences, managing to safeguard the good experiences (their relationships with people) from the brutality and violence of the regime. One might say they did not throw the baby out with the bathwater.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

After World War II, they moved to Trieste, carrying out a long-held project. Libero Polojaz was able to continue to develop his entrepreneurial skills here, always ensuring, together with his wife Zora, considerable financial support to many charitable organizations, school-related initiatives, cultural and recreational activities, especially those directed to children and the Slovenian community. <\/p>

These initiatives were all designed to reject extremist political colouring, respecting the other ethnic groups present in the area while being engaging and interesting to the other ethnic groups. The guiding principle was that to truly coexist, one must know the other.<\/p>
