Slovenes in Friuli Venezia Giulia ten years after Slovenia’s accession to the Schengen area – 2018.

The project, submitted by SLORI to the regional call for Slovene minority organizations to enhance and spread the use of the Slovene language, aims to determine the impact that Slovenia’s accession to the Schengen area in 2007 had on the Slovene community in Italy and, at the same time, on the entire Italian-Slovenian border area.

The Foundation was co-opted to participate in organizing a panel discussion on the economic status of Slovenes in the region and possible future prospects in the Schengen area. That event had been held in Gorizia as part of a two-day seminar.
